The Jinan Innovation Zone has a cooperation with the MCI | THE ENTREPRENEURIAL UNIVERSITY® in Austria and its Research & Transfer Centers: China Center and Family Business Center

Prof. Dr. Andreas Altmann, Rector of the MCI | THE ENTREPRENEURIAL UNIVERSITY® was a VIP guest at the Sino-German (European) SME Cooperation & Communication Conference 2019 (SMEC 2019) in Jinan and gave a keynote speech about Innovation during the World Technology Leader Event organized by "Die Deutsche Wirtschaft" (DDW).

CHINA CENTER

The China Center at MCI | The Entrepreneurial University®, which is headed by Prof. Wei Manske-Wang, is aimed to be a competence center for business, politics and society. The China Center lays the foundation for the economic, political, and cultural exchange between Europe and China. It actively addresses the opportunities, risks and challenges and derive well-founded decisions and measures from them.

To actively engage domestic students with relevant topics and issues, provide expertise, build bridges, promote networking with Chinese universities and foster mutual scientific, economic and cultural exchange, the China Center offers students courses on current developments about China as part of the MCI curriculum. The China Center supports the economy in building up competence for market entry and market development, particular focus is on cooperation with medium-sized companies. The China Center promotes applied research and development projects to provide in-depth know-how on china’s development for the domestic location in the areas of business and society. FAMILY BUSINESS CENTER

The Family Business Center at MCI | The Entrepreneurial University®, which is headed by Prof Dr. Anita Zehrer, was founded in 2016 as a joint initiative of the MCI and the Tirolean Chamber of Commerce. Since July 2017, it is continued as a distinct research lab and transfer center at the MCI. The center considers itself a focal point for family businesses in Western Austria and beyond. It cooperates with academic institutions, associations, companies and other institutions. It uses its economic, technological and innovational potential to promote, deepen and strengthen the economic, political and social significance of family businesses in the German-speaking and international area.

The center supports family businesses and fosters an exchange between science and business. Some of the center’s key goals are: to actively exchange of experiences between family businesses and between science and business; to undertake applied research, transfer and field projects; to foster education, continuing education, knowledge transfer, congress and events; to preserve family businesses, their innovative power and competitiveness across generations; and to promote qualified successors of family businesses, and to communicate and raise awareness on family business issues.
